Re: best boat in the 45 to 50 ft range?

The 50 is an awesome boat, I sold my 31 last year and bought a 50 in Southern California. It was almost a trade for a perfect 31 for a nice 50! The boat was incredible running up the coast to Seattle, through BIG wind storms and huge waves. It is a great boat and an amazing value, every time I am ab...

Love my flo-scan 9000 series. Tack, fuel burn, and gpm! What a great tool to find the " sweet spot " and engine condition.

Carbon is not that big of a deal to work with, it is nice to bag it but I have done plenty of wet lay also. I have found it to be no differant than glass, just make sure you get it wetted out fully. Kevlar..... does not grind worth a damn and has a HUGE water absorbtion rate. Before my Bert I raced ...

I have kept up boats since high school, back in the '80's. (got me through school) Hatteras used to only use Imron, now they have changed to Awl Grip. The only boat I continued to maintain was a '88 65' Hat, it was repainted for the first time three years ago with the Awl Grip because that is what H...

I have used the West System blister repair and the interlux systems. They failed in three years. Sea Hawk makes a barier product that has worked great for the past four years. I filled the blisters with 3M vinalester filler, all is good.

Flexi-teak was instaled on a boat I skippered two years ago. It was removed last year. It failed at the joints, every four inch or so. This was on cockpit of a 65 Hatteras sport fish in Seattle. Since then I have looked at more boats with it and found the same pattern.

These are board 40 over w/new pistons ballanced and blue printed, we also resized the rods, turned the cranks replaced the valve train including cam and l...

I will be getting some pics of my friends boat. What kind of a budget do you have and what years are you looking for? Have you looked int...

Hay Nic, I must say you have great taste in Boats! I tow a Montock behind my 31. I knew you were missing somthing when I was aboard, a dingie. I have a close friend selling a spotless 17 w/a 115 Suzukie 4 stroke. It is gaurage kept ( that is a shed) all of its life.
