By the way, has anybody raised the ceiling in their cabin? I popped my head up into the space between the liner and the bottom of the flybridge. There is lots of room up there! What is the best way to utilize that space? Thanks, David S Carl at Elite has a great insert that opens all that space up....

John, Got a bit side-tracked here...you bought a diesel Express to get the engines to put in your Flybridge... one of the major costs of the repower we did, gas to diesels, was changing the running gear, exhausts, fuel systems etc...sort of a lot of "hidden" costs. I've got a spread-sheet somewhere...

Sad to see it go like that. But I agree with CP, that is you can never fully identify any lack of structural integrity in the glass itself. Isn't there a hole burned through on the starboard side of the free board? Maybe use it as a mold master layup new hulls. O/T Cbone- where are you in LI? Are yo...

Glad no one was hurt. MJM's little day cruisers are sweet numbers. Very light and high tech, but nice runners- perfect picnic boat (canI say that after Hinckley trade marked it?). I rode one a few times out of 3 mile harbor in East Hampton. Never fished on one though. http://www.burkecompositeengine...

Okay, let me give more details. These engines have been propped for 2850 since 1981. The engines were not reaching full RPM towards the end of last season and the beginning of this one. To make a long story short the fuel pumps needed replacement. The new pumps are fantastic, in fact they work so we...

Vicroy- The glass bottles that alcohol is packaged in can break in heavy seas. I have found that anything packaged in a bikini (be it red, blond, or brunette) seems to be a fairly effective warmer upper and with no worries about broken glass and spilled liquor. You might even find yourself lasting p...

I'm excited about that layout. We spent a lot of time with Carl trying to get the boat just right. Hope t...

A Pair of Eyes on Engine Installation
Just throwing this out there. Carl at Elite is dropping the engines in my dad's Bahia Mar this week. He will be in St. Louis on business and I am stuck here in NY because of work. If anyone is looking for an excuse to take a ride to Elite Marine this week and just look at an engine installation then...

That is a PERFECT shot of that boat. Enjoy her this Summer. Growing up my Dad had both a cruiser and a sportfisherman. We both like the SF better. Had a full length Canvas for the really cold December Cod trips. Now, as soon as Carl is finished doing his magic, we will see what the Bahia Mar is all ...
