By the way, has anybody raised the ceiling in their cabin? I popped my head up into the space between the liner and the bottom of the flybridge. There is lots of room up there! What is the best way to utilize that space? Thanks, David S Carl at Elite has a great insert that opens all that space up....

John, Got a bit side-tracked here...you bought a diesel Express to get the engines to put in your Flybridge... one of the major costs of the repower we did, gas to diesels, was changing the running gear, exhausts, fuel systems etc...sort of a lot of "hidden" costs. I've got a spread-sheet somewhere...

I went to the local yard here in Naples where they had just installed a pair of the HO 385 HP little blocks which push a B28 upto 40Knts I also see and express on the B31 site for sale with little blocks that has over 1MPG consuption and I aslo know of another B31 gas big block that can run at 28MP...

Sean- I will check the trannies. The boat is a little under propped and will hit 3200 when light and no load. We cruise at 2400 and under load the boat will jst make 3000. We treat 2800 as WOT. It is nice to have that little extra ooomph when running thru an inlet.

you guys are right, thank you. It is not a TA. It does have the Turbo but no after cooler. 2800 RPM appears to be the correct number, with 2850 being the most popular target for propping.

Dick- That makes sense to me. I never seem to have had luck with varnish on exterior teak, even up north here. The wood looks great after you clean and oil it with Teak Oil. In some areas vernish on teak just strikes me as unsafe, maybe making the surface slippery. Is this my imagination or what?

Skipper Dick- I feel your pain. Despite how much I love the look of teak, I have tried to keep it to a bare minimum when ever possible.
