J, My wife and friend , Tom, really like what you have done in the helm area! It inspires us to keep going with our project. We can't wait till you get your windshield and tower figured out. I talked with Carl a couple of years ago and he told me about a bahia mar that had a raised helm area that h...

Hey, isn't that Mako hanging from a Blackfin. Well at least your father has now come to realization and owns as UV would say the Best Boat ever built. Yes Tony, a Blackfin, heresy! (actually I love that boat) But this is not his first 31, he's had a 31 FBSF and a 31 FBC, not to mention a 25 fb, a 2...

If ya gotta have seating in that area, that is the way to do it. Nice, real nice. I have often thought about having my motor boxs roll out on my Express. I'd love to gain quick full access without wrenching the back. But but then I just decided to just have another beer. 18 months... your dad has t...

Thanks to all of you for the comments and the ideas, I appreciate them. Captain Pat- the forward seat is on a custom built heavy duty stainless track that locks in place but rolls to midships. The hatch then lifts with two hydraulic cyclinders, and the aft sectional and prepstation go with it. Mike ...

First class rigging........and what a sweet boat. The engines fit perfectly. Thats a boat to grow old with for sure. that's the idea, climbing up and down the bridge is rough on Dad's knees. This should do the trick, and look great at the same time. One word of caution. I know first hand that Yanma...

Re: windshield adjuster
Since many of you are removing or covering your windshields has anyone got the adjuster knobs? All four windshield sections on Dreamsicle are operative and don't leak enough to justify sealing or covering. Also I like the fresh air in the summer. The knobs on mine all have a threaded metal insert i...

That was the owner of All Phase Glass. He moved in about 5-6 years ago. He is 2 doors down Cambridge Street from us. He had over 5 feet in his main building. He is fu##ed. He has been flooded, but his floods are more common than ours due to the fact that he is lower. It was over my head when I stoo...

Bob - I wonder if the Baron deck height is taller than a moppie ? I can get down and do some measurements. Would an arneson give you a lower x dimension? I love the idea of 525 HP in that hull - I got 320 and running it at WOT is so easy, no skill required (which matches up nicely for me!) I would ...

Yanmar repower recommendations
Any recommendations for Yanmar dealers? Two 6LY 315s are in the 31b, now it looks like the 32 B-fin needs to be repowered. We are thinking of putting the same engines in this boat just standardize across the fleet, if you will.
I appreciate your ideas and opinions.

There was a guy bombing around an anchorage I was in on Sunday. Made it look like a total blast! I actually thought it looked like something I would like to try. Until this video! At least make sure the quick release is ready to go! This summer I watched a guy up in Leland, Michigan repeatedly get ...

There is a thread on baotdiesel.com about the IPS pods. My view is the shear off is a red herring....we can whack off our conventional props, struts, shafts & rudders if hit wrong. The real knock on the pods is you have underwater gears running in oil, exactly like an i/o, and there is simply no wa...

pod drives
I keep reading and hearing about pod drives and how they will solve all our boating problems as well as curing cancer and ending world hunger. I don't buy it. While I believe they are fuel efficient and maneuverable, they seem like they could be a headache in certain situations. I have heard that th...
