Re: Forward Leaning Windshield-
In the process of repainting, stringers, chroming... an older FBC. Have been poking around this site which has been great- Has any one considered a forward leaning windshield for the fly bridge? Thanks in advance, Tangier- We had forward leaning windshields on both of the two 31B flybridges and 25B...

John My dad spoke to our local guy who maintains the 3208s on the Blackfin about Yanmar service before he chose them. The guy is super at what he does and really too honest for his own good sometimes. According to him, as with others, the timing belts are the critical item in Yanmar maintenance. Bas...

This is what I have been told so far, sounds real but I can not gauruntee the veracity. Seems the boat was sold here in NY at Surfside 3 (Marine Max) in Lindenhurst. Her name was Absolutely, I think, and she was being delivered to Florida to transport to Europe. The claim is that a shaft broke and t...

If that's not photoshop, that's awful! Walter, it's very real. Check out the plethora of videos on you tube showing the live fish being scaled, sliced, scored, and then dropped in a frying pan while the head is held out to keep it alive. The beating heart is the best part according to what I've read.

Re: Prop recommendations
Friend is completing a 31 project. Bahia Mar redone with reman 370 Cummins and 1.5 to 1 gears. Any thoughts on where to start. Thanks JG JG- is this the boat you guys were working on two years ago? That thing is going to be a monster. You and Bobh need to put signs on those boats, something like "w...

I've fished thousands of hours on a BF32 as well as on B31s that we have owned through the years. I can honestly say that the BF rides much more solidly, especially in a head sea, than the B31s. They are much heavier boats, so that is to be expected. It is also drier, and bigger in the cockpit and i...

Wow, this just brought back a slew of memories. I forgot all about those old folding back bench seats on the bridge. When I was 8 years old my dad bought his first 31 SF, I loved that damn boat with the open cabin. But I just had a flood of memories of sitting on that bridge with my father either he...

John you are funny as hell. Your burrito comment reminded me of an OT story about how old and fat I am. i was at my daughter's regatta a few weeks ago when I heard the UMass coach tell his boys to run a quick one mile warm up before rowing. So I watched as these boys, men really, took off in what fo...

There is another more important reason than insurance worries, as I understand it, that merchant vessels are not armed. The main reason merchant ships are not armed is because some ports of call do not allow vessels to enter port while armed. In addition, I think that some countries will not flag ve...

Quick hauling idea from cockpit
A while back someone was asking about a quick hauling of anchor line from the cockpit when offshore. I was racing a sailboat with a friend and the thought of using a sail winch on the gunwale or int the cockpit came to mind. Check out Harken winches, these winches take a tremendous amount of abuse w...

It's getting late over here in the UK and I've probably had too many Buds but 325 gallons of diesel has gotta weigh nearly 1.5 tons. No wonder she's runnin' rock solid.
