Hey Tommy,
Thanks for reminding me! I'm still in Morehead at Harbor Marine, but hopefully in the water this year. Do you still go to Charleston for the occasional class?

I think I saved a thread (I think it was yours (?) ) where one of our members posted a bunch of pics of their cockpit rebuild, as well as, explained the materials used (coosa/fg sandwich). I'm just not sure what computer it's on. I'll be starting next month.

Thanks Rick,
I thought coosa would be the way to go, but I've only ever done fg/wood in the past. It'll be good to get some experience with it before I jump into the Bertram deck support rebuild.

Timely post!...I'm going to give a shot at restoring mine. As bad as they are, I know they will require some pretty aggressive treatment. I found some folks online that sell kits (Glass Doctors) that I'm going to try. Eventually, I'm planning to glass them in, but this may buy me a little time.

Kevin, I have an OTC 1750A stand (I don't know how to post a pic or link) that you are welcome to (although Destin to NC is a pretty good trek!). I think I even have a 3208 mounting plate.

Yessir!is it a fancy way to do something you could do with other tools?
Honestly, it's really a weird knife to me...it's almost cleaver-ish towards the handle and a single beveled to boot.

A little late to the game in responding, but yep, I have a deba. Kind of a unique knife...pretty heavy (thick) near the heel for smacking with the heel of the hand to break through bones, and tapers toward the tip for meat work. Not a fillet-only/slicer knife (Sujihiki), but one that can do both job...
