Re: Update on Another Joy and Lowrance question

Careful with the in hull transducers. Bertrams have such a dramatic dead rise if you don't get a tilted element transducer you will not see what is underneath you. You may be seeing things 20-75 feet away to one side from the boat dependent on depth. It is further complicated if you want to introduc...

A while back I thought you found an overseas manufacturer of some of the hard to find parts and pieces unique to the B31. Emblems, the chrome bow piece, etc. Was this a dream or do you know what I'm trying to remember? Thanks for the help in advance everyone. The part I'm really looking for is the c...

For whatever reason, I'm not sure, but no one heads the tuna till back at the dock in NC. On bluefin the belly meat is prized. We cut off a big section of the gill plate and romove the insides from there. Then fill the cavity with ice, along with the behind the fin puncture and the tail slashing. Do...

Grew up in Setauket, right next to Port Jefferson. The boat was kept in East Hampton and we ran out of Moriches. These were the days before we had the best boat ever built. Now we are in Morehead City, NC. Last time we went out was sunday and had a good day. Came in, sent the fish to the dock with a...

Giant Bluefin Tuna Tactics

During December and January, the giant bluefin tuna show up off the coast of North Carolina. I have found myself living in dead bait country, but this is the first time I've had a chance to tangle with these tuna. The tradition here in NC is to pull four lines, two on top (Islanders w/ horse ballyho...

Timmy, you could finish your project quicker buying the 42' express. Why don't you come down and look at it? It's 2 miles from the house in Morehead. We'll even let you stay here. I've seen it, it floats in the water instead of collecting the water inside of it. Can you still see the tub or is it hi...

Uncle Vic, Count Dad and I in, maybe we'll bring the Limited Edition. Venice sounds like a good time. We would love it. I'll bring the clears and the umbrellas for the boat drinks. I'm out of college, gainfully employed and hope to be back in Panama sometime soon. Hope all is well. "Lucky Dumb Shit"

Randall,
Looks great. Maybe next time I'm in NY maybe we can ride a few together. Might not be as big as last week, but it's always fun! When it gets cold up there and your tired of putting wood in the stove, call me. We have a place for you to stay, anytime.
