Cummins....Cummins.....American iron and parts are reasonable. Not only that you wont need to re-engeneer the mounts. My Yanmar genset is nice but its a toy compared to others. A pair of 4bt 250 hp re-mans from cummins should push it close to 28-30knots. I just put two re-mans in the Tiara 31 expres...

If you dont want to remove the impellor or pump just take the hose off the sea strainer and run it into a 5 gallon bucket and let the garden hose run in the bucket while running. I did this on the 210's and it worked fine. You will be able to run for about 20seconds but it was enough to test wot-no ...

Note: To remove the whole pump on the Cummins 6bt with factory mounts just shim the mount between the block 1/2 in. and add longer bolts. Its easy if you do it before initial install but many of you may have the 3/8-1/2in needed in the slot for the shim. I just cut the palet shipping mounts and used...

I was told by an uncle of mine who now retired used to own 1/3 of a Cummins franchise that they often got 240-250hp out of the 210hp version by just making the injection pump overfuel a bit. Would it be safe to do this on the 220re-man with the storm block. Also does the new220 re-man actually have ...

I would think so but at wot it may not be quite enough. The secondaries are operated by how much vacume the engines pulls so at cruise it will open up to what the engine needs and you can also read the plugs after a long run at cruise and change the metering rods/jets for more fuel if necessary.
