Looks like a 70s built Scarab to me. A friend had one that looked exactly like it with a single handrail on the middle of the deck. Hardly any cockpit to stand in and hatch on the rear deck covering the engine made working on them a real pain. Useless

Another option is clear 1/4 in plexi glass. Just scuff the backside and spray paint any color you like. I used this method for covering all the old cutouts in my dashboard with one big piece then cut out what i need in the plexi. I used black paint but any color works and wont show whats behind it

Craig i suggest stainless due to most gauge sets for marine use are stainless and aluminum will react with the dissimilar stainless. Even if you use plastic ones the aluminum is a little higher maintence.

I think these and other species like the great white are migrating here do to over fishing in the atlantic and pacific. Also they are highly sensitive to sonar pings all those military vessels put out. Now all we have to do is keep those giant tuna and foreign fleets out of the Gulf of Mexico
