The next quest is a search for someone who can resaw these boards and not taper them. Ten feet by fourteen plus inches by one and a half inches. Dividing two boards evenly should give four halves of slightly less than three quarter inches ( just one half of the kerf). Should be able to cover the gun...

Having a bit of conflict with USCG Vessel Documentation Center folks. I noticed the length and tonnage on the Documentation certificate are for a B28 not a 31 FBC. Apparently been that way for an undetermined amount of time. They say since 1980 when it was built. I don't believe that but it's their ...

Does anyone remember a post a few years ago about the De Guello (sp? ) Horns? Music that was played by General Santa Ana's Army before they attacked the Alamo? I would like to be able to capture a recording of this music. I can't find it in ITunes. Thanks, John

I replenished the reservoir and the air pressure on the accumulator and drove out to the bay usinng both the autopilot and the wheel. When I returned, I had no fluid loss and full pressure. Go figure. I guess I'll just keep an eye on it. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I could find no evidence of a leak there and I installed a new one several years ago but I will definately try that. I hope it is the ram because it is accessable, unlike some of the hoses. Thanks!

Well, today I found and identified the check valve with its' two pinned bypass nuts, and the autopilot pump and motor. My genset has a raw water heat exchanger which I drain and flush with RV antifreeze, but the other side of that heat exchanger I am told has a nonfreezing metallic liquid that doesn't get changed. sounds strange to me but there is no antifreeze put into the non raw water cooling side of the system. ...

Are the fans as necessary on diesel boats for cooling or ventilation ? I didn't consider cooling, just flammable vapors. I had a friend in Panama whose gas boat expolded at the Amador Marina. Should I be using those blowers while running with the Cummins ?

BTW, do the bleeder ports have to be opened and closed each time or can the hoses that go to them be submerged in a jar of fluid? What keeps air from going back up the bleeders if they aren't closed each time?
