I concur with all things stated above. I have a pair of 3116's in my 33' Bert with 2000 hours and they are great. I also have 2 friends with the same engines in 35's and they love them. As long as you do your home work and all checks out don't be afraid of them.

Those are 504's they cruise at 17-19 Kts at 2700 rpms with a total burn of 15 to 17 GPH. I have them in my 31' and they've been reliable for the last 15years. I have '01 F350 with the 7.3 Has never in 10 years given me a wrinkle. I don't use the truck for hauling or work so the miles are easy ones. I expect it to last forever :) . milage is not great, 12-13 around town and 16-17 on the highway when not pushing it.
