regarding the no-bolt look---for the hawse pipe---when i was doing mine over-few years back- could not find a ss that was secured from underneath like original. All the ss had 3 screws from the top--so i rechromed my originals.

Pop up cleats are popular and serve a purpose, just not sure the bow cleat is the best application.

Great for the mid cleats to keep the gunnels clean, making it easier to get around.

In the bow, I would go with traditional cleats.

I dont think powder coating will hold up for this application.

The frames are not stable and twist as the boat rides--the joints will rub and eventually crack--once that happens it will fail. I think you would be better off painting with imron.

I was reading the current issue of Marlin Mag and a review of the 37 Willis-beautiful boat.

The interior cabin has a cork flooring, does anybody have the pros and cons. Where and how is the material sold and any idea of costing?

Also wondering how it is trimed around hatches?

I don't think the owners actually know what the boat looks like on the water---they go to a boat show and board the stern---walk through big sliding glass doors and see a mini apartment---their first mate(wife) is with them and they are sold----i have a neighbor that tells a story that he sold a boa...

I am not aware of a production change in flybridge width unless it happened in the very early years 61-62----Palm Beach Lady was customized by Jim Ray on Long Island.



I do remember someone in Rhode Island or Mass that customized a boat called Grass Hopper and the bridge could have been widened.

This is not one of my projects-just wondering if it would be feasible to cut windows into one of those fiberglass inserts that many have installed.

can aluminum that has been chromed be stripped and polished?

i think any coating is going to be compromised at the wear points, where the legs and the chair fittings meet---i think polished would be the best for me-maintenance wouldnt bother me.
