Years ago--- monel was used for shafts----not sure the cost but 1 1/4 monel is stronger and you don't have to deal with upsizing the struts. Not even sure you can find monel these days.

If you could find someone to fabricate ss frames --- I would guess they would be at least twice the cost----it seems boat manufacturers in Europe utilize ss more----
For that kind of $$---would prefer fiberglass fabrication---I know someone was doing it--don't remember the cost.

Pretty sure I isolated the problem to a bad ignition module. Replacement parts are priced from $80 for Sierra--$150 Volvo---$225 for a Mercruiser------I have seen Delco prices for $45-------Is there a difference for the marine versions?

Was not sure how to jump the switch with 3 wires——power/fuel pump/starter? For future reference please advise. As could not jump the switch-put new switch on good motor -started right up so switch is good. Secondary problem—getting no spark—-I can hear the fuel pump and she will crank- but no spark....

I think I jinxed myself----but lost an engine this weekend----I have electric fuel pumps----my oil pressure switch had a crack and shut down my fuel pump. Had the same problem---replaced the coil--still had the problem----replaced the ignition module----problem fixed.
I have electric fuel pumps-----over the years replaced them as well---experienced similar problems with them as well.

I was in Montauk this week and came across a nice restored 25 Flybridge inboard with a port of call of Hutchinson Island, Fl.

Post some pics---is the boat a sea foam green? I am pretty sure it was docked at Oaklands at one time and dry docked Hampton Boat Works.

I was on Lara as well----they set the bench seat bact and made more room to run boat standing as well as sitting--it also has the helm pod which also make the boat easier to run standing up.
I have seen two helm chairs mounted on the bridge--never 3---I think it wuld be too tight.

L & H in Stuart, FL make their own decks when they redo Bertrams------I don't believe it is a drop-in, it looks like the same deck they use on their walk around that is modified to fit.

I did away with my flybridge ladder a long time ago----I added the factory side steps that the older boats came with--not sure what year they stopped putting them on --maybe 1969? I bought them from an owner that put a tuna tower and did not need them anymore.

I am pretty sure that Tommy Gifford's Stormy Petrel was a sedan with a tuna tower --it was an early boat probably '61.

I don't know the calculations involved for underwater exhaust back pressure---I do remember a local boat in Freeport,NY ---The BOAT----a Hatteras --were the owner converted to underwater exhaust and kept blowing motors---this was 30 years ago--- probably not dealing with the same animal.

I used the Bridge between the engine boxes on my gas boat and the original engine boxes-----the bridge needed to be narrowed--as the original boxes are wider than Cabrera's----my original boxes have just enough clearance for the exhaust manifolds----so I would say no to Cabrera's engine boxes------y...
