Wow those are good numbers.
Do you have any handling issues at speeds above 30kts that the inboard guys have?
Thanks
WOT 40.25mph
Cruise 31-32mph.
Those are very respectable numbers.

If the anchor came loose and hooked bottom at speed, I would expect that the chain/rope would cut deep into the hull at the bow. I feel that the rode would have pull thru down to the waterline. You figure the force of a 63fter going 24kts is an amazing amount of energy. Plus the angle would have the...

I am in shock that the buoy is still in question. The radar reflector is not even bent. Their is no real damage below the waterline on the hull. Not a chain rub, not a dent, nothing to the bottom. The rudder post and strut damage looks exactly like damage sustained from impact with the bottom. The f...

My whole point is that we dont know if it was an accident or negligence. We dont know if the boat fell apart or not. The information that we have is all from unreliable and third party reports. The crew from the start has always claimed that they did not hit anything. They were there. But people co...

You get what you pay for in a crew like anything else. No wonder the crew lawyered up so quick. The above comment is not justified because no one knows the captain or the crew aboard that vessel. No one knows how much they were paid or how experienced they were or even what really happened. Acciden...

I found that area on my 25ft Bertram to be very thick and strong. I found the largest/strongest bow eye I could (5/8 I think) that it used on the 33ft Grady/34ft Whalers. I put over 20 layers of glass in the anchor compartment overlapping getting bigger just for piece of mind and because I am anal. ...

My last and final thoughts on the topic. I agree that it is not as simple as throwing some OB's on a bracket, but the amount of work/money (as others have stated) required to install diesels would be much greater. Due to the fact that it is not done correctly often (conversion to OBs) gives it the b...

Kipp I would love to know some performance and fuel economy numbers as well as some more pictures. Especially of the rigging. Looks aside, it can be a better choice for most people. I would rather have function and usability over looks any day for a boat. There is nothing wrong with balsa coring. A boat that fails with a balsa core can fail for a number of reasons but the balsa core is not the reason for a failure. It is always an out lying factor such as poor manufacturing or water intrusion. Skaters do have balsa coring and so do many race boat goi...

I would have a leakdown test done. Much better indicator on total engine health (i.e. valves) vs compression. With compression and leakdown done, you will have your answer. If those are good, everything else can be fixed. If those come back good, I would do cap, rotor, manifolds, risers and elbows j...

I agree with the other. Install the spark tester inbetween the coil and the distributor cap. This will tell you if the coil is firing.
