What do you search when looking for one? Oday 14?

Looks like a nice replacement for my Whaler.

Re: New Project B25!

I agree with Cam and Scot. All weight as far aft as possible.

On the old 25bertram.com website we had a guy repower with a single Suzuki on a bracket and he still added lead weight in the rear.

I had a 8D diesel battery against the transom below the outboard.

Great video. Armstrong has the template for the 25 Bertram bracket all set. You can call them and they will have it on file. The video shows why the ride is a little harsh. You run bow proud which makes for a very dry ride but since the waves are impacting midship, it does not cut as nice. My OB Ber...

Re: 25 Bertram Express with outboard splash

Great news. Glad to hear she will stay on a plane at lower speed. I agree with you on the ride. People talk about cruising at higher speeds and I never was able to really boogy with her due offshore conditions. 2.5 ratio LOA/Beam is pretty wide for high speeds in steep chop. 18mph-20mph was my norma...

All great advice but for your budget, I would strongly suggest selling your existing boat and buying a 31 Bertram that is already converted to diesel. Great news. Look into bay manufacturing for a 5 inch spacer kit. It will get your prop down deeper while also allowing you to raise the powerhead up higher since you can then move up holes. I do highly recommend the Doel fin planning aid since it does give you stern lift when the engine is trimmed d...

LED light bulbs for home. Extremely pleased.

It took me a while but I am now 100% LED light bulbs in my house. Total cost was less than $400 for 48 total light fixtures. Most are 60 watt equivalents with 8 watts of use. The reason that I bring this up is because I bought a few 100 watts light bulbs for the future a few years ago. I chuckled wh...

Great news. That first run in your boat (even if not complete) is worth so much. It will prove your concept, it will further motivate and also allow you to figure out a lot of things.

The products are too different to compare. It is like comparing a DC10 to a 777.

They are a similar products in what they do but that is where the comparison ends. Calculating cost based upon inflation for two items that are very different won't show anything.

75hp is the ugly step children of outboard horsepowers. They are all 90/115hp engines that are detuned for the 75hp number. They tend to be heavier and larger. The 60/70hp range is the top of the grouping of engines below so they are significantly smaller and lighter. The old wisdom that the engine ...

Those are XL 25inch 3.0 liter Mercurys. They are mounted a little high. Normally you would run a XXL 30 inch engine but I suspect that a 25inch single would work as well. 15.5 x 17 pitch prop is a good starting point for a 3 blade stainless if not the exact prop you need.

Walk around Lewis Circle public dock off of Fire Island Avenue. The village seems to provide a really nice gangway to those slips upon request. Several boats have the same durable gangway that looks like it is provided by the Village. It is aluminum with IPE wood.

Adding steering and throttles alone would be close to $1k even if you had...
