the boat went down stern first, it would make sense that the balsa core transom would fail at that time, the strut seems pretty obvious to me- its sitting on it. Having seen and repaired a 50' Sea Ray that fell out of its travel lift I can tell you that the struts and rudders went right though the b...

it is not going to be raised, it is a total loss and has no value. The transom is gone, the tower is trashed, the forward deck is almost entirely missing, large sections of the hull sides are missing. The diver on the wreck has already stated there is no damage to the bottom, and that the underwater...

When I said earlier if it was one of your own would the tone be different what I was trying to imply was if one of your own said "I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING", would you believe it more then reading someone else's story on the internet through 4-5-6th party ? I was not even...

He was supposed to have been 1 mile from that buoy, lets just speculate like mature people here, lets think of something he could have hit, that he did not see, that would take down the boat? I cant think of anything off hand but I know there are very salty people on this board who have seen enough ...

These photographs do not lie, forget what has been talked about- this is the buoy that is supposed to have taken down that boat? http://ro...

You get what you pay for in a crew like anything else. No wonder the crew lawyered up so quick. that captain runs boats back and forth to Florida all the time, for many years he has been doing it, tradition carried on from his father who also has been doing it for years. What makes you think the cr...

Patrick might be the guy to give you the technical reason, but as I understand it, any tank pre 1980 will be affected by the contact with ethanol. After that date, there's a chance you might be ok, Walter A Silver Anniversary Edition came in today with a bad tank, I think some people just get lucky...

walter hitting a rock is not under the warranty, it was just an example of the cost of parts, when a yamaha lower unit costs $2,900 for a 225hp. hitting a rock is covered under insurance, you cant go about your life worrying about things like that otherwise you would scare yourself out of leaving t...

On the topic...I have read where guys where using "sandable silicon caulk" between the slats. So what is the band name for this stuff, and is it actually sandable? I have used Boat Life caulk on the boat. It's sandable and stands up to the elements. Flexible, too. Boatlife, who make Life Calk, make...

BTW I paid about $500-$600 for my cooler, that included installation. I made my money back in under 6 months so it was worth it for me. We also no longer use the microwave to heat up water for tea, chocolate or oatmeal. It took the Culligan man about 20 minutes to install, mine houses the filters in...

I was getting hit with $60-$110 water bills and had to have those damm bottles all over the place that no one wants to replace. A simple...

4200 is not UV stable either. We are talking about the deck of a 31 Bertram right? With the hatch openings and the edges along the hull plenty of water can find its way down into the bilge, I think some of this is being over thought? A bead of simple silicone will do the job and will be UV stable. I...

weed killer thread
I searched the old topic talking about killing weeds, but for some reason I could not reply to it. I have a 4 gallon backpack sprayer coming this week and needed to know where on Long Island ...
