Re: 31 bertram value
Pete, Steve brought his boat back for a few weeks so I could do some stuff and there are/were two other 31's in the yard. One getting a refit with a Cabrera deck kit, the other was pretty rough, judging by the exhaust size it had cummins but they were out at the time, it got moved around the yard, n...

Re: Cummins 6BTA 300 HP-Wits End-Emergency
Time/cost factors which we here don't know it would be good to at least pull the rocker cover and see if a valve dropped. If valve train is intact next would be a bore scope in #1 to see if piston is moving up and down indicating a broke piston or rod. I've run into a few broke pistons above the pin...

You didn't over pressure anything. A common leak point on those gears is the output shaft to coupling splines. They are a course spline and if the coupling gets even a little loose fluid leaks by the spline between the faces of the coulings as it spins. If you have a circular patern thats another cl...

The yacht, named Baden, was made by New World Yacht Builders under the Northern Marine brand. The company issued a statement that it has "complete confidence" in its designs, but still laid off its 52-person staff and suspended production. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but...

425hp is pushing the limits of the standard bravo one. Unless he has a rev limiter when coming out of the water and dropping back in, that torque will strip the teeth off the upper gears. Throttle control is important.
The bravo XR drive is more suitable I think on these instances.

Not knowing exactly which morse controls you have but some do indeed have throw stops. Look under either under a top label if a solid body or remove cover on the skeleton body. Doesn't matter the size of a boat for live aboard.
Had an ex Vietnam chopper pilot in the early 80's live permanently on a 28 for years. Heck of a nice guy.
When I was a kid there were 5 of us that took 2 week vacations on a Chris Craft 27' down the Chesapeake. Tight but doable.

Just a thought after thinking about it. Wonder if you could get your ham technician license which covers the 2.4Ghz/13cm range and since a typical factory ham radio operates between 5 and 200 watts without a booster amp, you could legally operate a quad copter with increased power?
