A 50/50 mix of Distilled water and a non additive ethylene glycol is the fluid. The trouble is finding antifreeze with no additives which can gum up the system.

Screen clogged?
Check pressure before yanking to confirm.
Rare, but I saw twice in 29 years was sheared shaft key and spinning prop.

On the side of the trans where the lever is that the cable attaches to, you'll notice the lever from the side has 3 holes. Fwd, n, reverse. Those are supposed to ride over top a ball for the detent. Make sure the nut holding the lever on is not loose. https://forums.iboats.com/filedata/fetch?id=9962...

Flat hard surface you can resurface. But you will have to polish using at least 1500 for it to seal. After 12 years if I were pulling it all apart to do that, I'd replace it first. Hot? Kevin, It's the carbon side that will have the issue on high speed logs as the cooling water that surrounds the log goes away at speed. Tony,
Not all coolers will have zincs and you can actually over zinc an engine.
If your trans cooler has a good bond with the engine block, it will be protected by the other zincs. You can check that bond with an ohm meter or a bonding meter.

Don't forget antenna gain, a 3 dB antenna creates a larger signal pattern, but that pattern doesn’t travel as far, so it doesn’t leave the horizon as dramatically when the boat pitches. Using one of the many prop calculators on line 19x20 4 blade, 21x20 3blade. but contact local prop shop. These calculations are basic start with only a 70% efficiency.
The 240 4lh were a lower rpm engine. This is up at the 6lp range.
