A 50/50 mix of Distilled water and a non additive ethylene glycol is the fluid. The trouble is finding antifreeze with no additives which can gum up the system.

On the side of the trans where the lever is that the cable attaches to, you'll notice the lever from the side has 3 holes. Fwd, n, reverse. Those are supposed to ride over top a ball for the detent. Make sure the nut holding the lever on is not loose. https://forums.iboats.com/filedata/fetch?id=9962...

Daniel,
A good forum will not be driven by those with administrative authority, they reside in the back ground.

It's the members who carry the load and donate to cover expenses.

Not all coolers will have zincs and you can actually over zinc an engine.
If your trans cooler has a good bond with the engine block, it will be protected by the other zincs. You can check that bond with an ohm meter or a bonding meter.

The 6BY 260 is a 4000 rpm engine.

Using one of the many prop calculators on line 19x20 4 blade, 21x20 3blade. but contact local prop shop. These calculations are basic start with only a 70% efficiency.

The 240 4lh were a lower rpm engine. This is up at the 6lp range.
