Drifter, There are some mechanics who use primer bulbs inline on diesel. I don't. My work is a reflection on me. Using anything but proper methods and materials is selling my customers short. There is always a cheaper method for doing things. And many people choose that route. The check ball doesn't...

Shhhh. Don't say hijack, the Feds will shut us down. Ralph Nader drove the Corvair into extinction Anytime anyone says one person can't change anything, remember that. My thought has been if someone wants to invent a drivable flaming dog turd and you don't want to own one, then stay out of my abilit...

Drifter, Even with the primer bulb, air in the system would have to be bled out. The problem with the primer direct inline is that it has a check ball inside that one can become disloged and block fuel flow, two won't work at all and three will restrict fuel flow. If you want a bulb for a priming sy...

60 minutes had a story on commercial tuna fishing Sunday. The ocean continues to be raped along with most other of earth's natural resources. We just can't get it thru our heads that these resources are not infinite. Here's a link if you didn't see it. Scary stuff. The future of sea species a few de...

You'd have to know why the boat sunk to make an intelligent statement. If it sunk because lite pounding broke it apart is one thing. If it sunk because someone left a hose clamp off, thats another. I've seen all matter of boat brands go down. The sea ray is not my first choice in boats, or one I wou...

First adventure into wood working
From JR High shop, I always gravitated to metal. My first wood project was an oak step that looked more like expressionist art than functional wood. I've always loved wood and admired its beautiful grains and colors. Randalls work just reinforced my admiration of wood. I fell head over heels some ti...

Unless you have a huge ram and lines, the 80 pump is fine on boats up to 35/36' especially with Pat's over sized rudders if installed correctly.
It's the only one I've used on that size boat and the last 31 I did used that pump.
There should be less than 200 bucks between the costs of the two pumps.

By altering the angle, I take you mean the shaft angle. They are trying to "flatten" it out. Problem is if you are repowering with diesel, the current angle works well to utilize a prop that will allow you to extract the power from the diesel. When you flatten, you decrease the size of the prop you ...
