Guys Anyone know of a starboard strut off a 35 laying around I could grab quick. I've checked everywhere I can think of Hi Tide, 33.com, Hull Truth. Hi Tide is shipping me a port but I need starboard too and that's gonna be a two week wait, time I just don't have. I've been told only struts off a 35...

Re: Anyone use downriggers for tuna?
Bob, Crazy drag. My planer rods have 130 & 200 jerry brown loaded on a tiagra 50. Drag washer stack changed allowing for more drag and we still need to max the drag at times to hold the planer in place. I'm always amazed then a tuna takes off that something doesn't break before the mate pulls the dr...

Re: Anyone use downriggers for tuna?
Bob,
Normally we will run a #4 braced. If we need to go deep and plow the bottom we'll throw on a #16. With either of these be very careful when you're reeling them in un-tripped. They can jump out of the water when they break the surface.

Re: Anyone use downriggers for tuna?
Dug, Made the switch from downrigger to planer several years ago, one less thing to store on board. Back when we ran downriggers I would always replace the wire with something else, wire tends to "sing". As for effectiveness; deadly for bluefin, and some days days very productive for yellowfin too. ...

Has anyone cheated and pulled fuel from their main fuel line? I know this is not recommended, a few people have tried to convince me it would be fine to do this. They claim they've never had any issues after doing so. I trust the feedback of the faithful a little more.

Does anyone know where I can the trim ring that covers the headliner seams directly under the v-berth hatch? Mine came down in several pieces and needs to be replaced. The trim ring looks to be original 1970 31 Flybridge.

John, One thing to REALLY keep in mind about what are basically T-top style outriggers is you are very limited in the pole length. Most mgf limit them to 16' I think Lee may offer 18'.
