What had me puzzled for a while was to get the correct splitter so that with one bombola I could supply both the water heater and my galley stove, the problem being that there are now 2 types of regulators; the old one that you secure with a spanner with a left thread and the new one, which I have,...

I'm not up on the laws (or lack thereof) in Florida, but up here in the Blue States, bottom paint needs to be removed and applied under the 'watchful eye' of someone with the proper license (usually an exterminators license).

So be careful with the Home Depot, shape-up guys idea.

You might want to close the scuppers. The 20 was more self-sinking than self-bailing. Close the holes, install good pumps (plural intended).

The 2.43 gear is going to cost you some speed compared to a 2.0. But what I would really worry about is all that mechanical advantage snapping a shaft. Do you know what alloy the shafts are?

Hi, and welcome to the site. Here are some pictures of a properly done trailer...... Perhaps they will inform your decision. Looks to be just outboard of the rudders. Re: Groco external sea strainers

This was Pats recommendation: In terms of raw water sizing, always go one size larger than the engine fitting for the through hull fitting, and 1 size larger for the strainer. ie: Engine raw water pump fitting = 1.5"; through hull should be 2" for standard or 1.5" full flow; strainer size should be ...

I get about 5 mpg at 1100 rpm and make 7.5 knots. If I carry an extra 110 gallons of fuel, I could (slowly) make it 1500 miles with fuel to spare.
