Re: Gunwale mini crane B28

If you look at the two boats side by side, you would think that the 31 looks small for a 31 and the 33 looks large for a 33. That's because the 31 has more boat under water than above. The 33 has more boat above the water than below. It makes a difference... It's the same with every clorox bottle bo...

Re: Gunwale mini crane B28

Here, scooters are 49cc, but many people install 70cc kits. Honda used to make a Rebel 250 (mostly for women). Yamaha used to make a pretty cool XS400 (my second bike). Today in the US, 500cc is pretty much the smallest bike you'll find in great numbers. There are many many 600's because there's a 6...

Re: Dinette table hardware

Mike that's a great Idea that I have been considering. What I can't do is mount a base plate as there is a hatch in the deck. So I could use a mounting plate underneath the table with a large rubber cap on the bottom of the leg. Is that what you were thinking? I was thinking about a couple of these...

Not to mention that if your rudder ports aren't leaking slightly, they're too tight.

Bilge pumps. Three of them are better than two. Four are better than three. Bigger is better than smaller. NO 'one-arm-bandit' float switches.

What Bob said. Don't be concerned about the gear ratios in 'forward' vs 'reverse'. Yes, they will be SLIGHTLY different. Yes, one will be slightly louder than the other at dead idle. Not a problem.

If you properly epoxy a good solid piece of resin encapsulated oak to the hull, you can probably use stainless ...

170 HP is not enough for this boat, unless you're never leaving the bay or don't care about cruising above 18 knots. Yanmar 230/240 cruise is 23 or 24. Yanmar 315 cruise is 27 or 28. Almost nothing is simpler to maintain than a 6BT. They pretty much run forever in the 250 to 330 HP range and will gi...

Welcome to the sandbox. The two issues that you're likely to encounter are height and width. At a beam of 11'2", you're oversized. I think that over 12' is the requirement for pilot vehicles so you're ok there, but most states require permits for anything over 8.5' wide. The height is the height, an...

Starboard doesn't hold paint. Neither does Delrin or any of the acetal plastics.

That said, I cruise at 23 knots at 3100 and currently top out at 24.5 at 3300.
