He recently told me that an antibiotic related mishap earlier in the year had required that he be in a medically induced coma for several weeks. Said that he woke up 50 pounds lighter and with a beard.

Last last question--- Making surge tubes and reducers(enlargers) using polyester resin for the heat. As it is not as strong...does it make sense to finish off with a layer of epoxy for added strenght? Properly done, polyester is just as strong as epoxy. It's just not as good an adhesive. I agree. And actually while I'm running out, I also have a bladder with 75 to 100 gallons of fuel on the deck as well. So another 600 pounds all the way aft. Leaving from Hempstead Harbor, it's easily 110 miles to the edge. So I arrive, transfer fuel, stow the bladder, and start trolling.

Six guys is a load..... I usually fish with one or two other guys. I keep a commercial box on the deck, in between the engines and the rocket launcher. The whole stern is clear. I usually load it 1/2 full of ice and take off. When I get to the canyon, I dump in two boxes of kosher salt and 15 gallon...

Re: Fuel pickup question
Water and clogged are two different things. If water is an issue, yes two pickups at different heights like Mike suggested, run the lowest pickup as your main fuel line as water will be at the bottom of the tank. So if a problem does occur the higher line should be fine in good fuel for a little wh...

the second layer was worse as it would stick to the first layer of glass and try and pull that off. If you let the first layer cure to a good tack, the subsequent layers will stay up better. As long as the previous layer hasn't fully cured, you still get a chemical bond between the two layers. In o...

You need to re-wire. You probably need to re-(fill in the blank). Read this: https://www.yachtsurvey.com/bilge_pumps.htm Ultra Safety Systems float switch is second to none. In time, aluminum falls victim to corrosion. Salt water in the bilge, electrolysis, etc. Fiberglass pretty much lasts forever, and if you need to repair or modify it, you can do that without a welder.

Welcome to the club.... You probably have no fuel tank because the original tank was destroyed by ethanol fuel and the owner at that time didn't want to spend the money on a new one. How much fuel you need is pretty much a function of how far you intend to go, and how often you're going to use the b...

You can check for it quickly, if you pull the access plate and probe the tank with a stick and some water paste. If you're unfamiliar with water paste, it's a chemical that changes color in the presence of water (but not petroleum products). You just put some on a stick and 'stick' the tank. https:/...
