None needed. Diesels make more noise on the intake side of the engine.

My un-muffled 4LH's are quieter than my muffled 454's were. The only advantage is the back surge protection.

I may still have my old 4" mufflers up in the attic. Let my know if you need one. I could bring it out there on Sunday.

Yanmar 230 HP 4bangers, 2:1 gears and either 20X22X4 blade (slower and smoother) or 21X23X3 blade (faster but not as nice of a wake patern at 7.5 knots).

I think that for your use, a gas boat will be just fine. Diesels are perfect for hours of hard charging followed by hours of trolling followed by more hours of running hard. That said.......you could build yourself a beautiful picnic boat out of Doc's old 31 lobster boat. It's a hart top, no flybrid...

I would ditch oil pressure in favor of another temperature gauge. One for the fresh water side and one for the exhaust manifold. An idiot light can tell you if your oil pressure is low, but a clogged strainer can burn your boat down. Another thing.... I find that I run the boat more by the boost gau...
