Greetings Bertram faithful, It has been years since I have posted due the fact I had sold my beloved 31. Well as luck would have it we bought it back. It was to much boat for the gentalman that "had to have her". She was ridden hard and put away wet so we have some work to do. One thing we never did...

As some of you know or may not know, 5 years ago I started building my dream boat. We splashed Jan 16,2016 and have just over 700 hours on the Flow Scans (great product BTW) Last season in souther California the fishing was incredible thanks to El Niño. 4200 was used not 5200 I like stated and acording to the website prio to updating it they showed the lights being installed on a sail boat with a sever contour. Being a fire captain in an area with a large harbor I have been on 6 boat Fires (in the water) in 19 years and many more in dry dock. 3 were diesel boats 3 were gas boats. I know a few of us on this board have ordered underwater lights from macris industries and want to post and update and get others updates as well. I also have cummins 270s in mine. I truly do love them and they are easy to work on and parts are cheap. I think if I ever repower again, I'll go with 300's or 330's I'm heavy so I cruise at 20 knots and top out at 24 knots loaded. I had a Volvo in my last boat ( maintanice nightmare) and a gas mari...

Re: Cummings 6BT 270 HP-Hours? Volvo KA MD 230 HP
I have had both. Volvo KAMD in my last boat and cummins 270hp in my current B31. The cummins 270hp blows the Volvo away. Parts are a 3rd of the cost and maintanice is easy. The Swedish engineering on the Volvos is something to be desired and once you get up in hours the maintanice becomes 10 fold. W...

It's a wiring issue, I just need to figure out what is either causing back feeding or not exciting the signal wire. The system is being monitored by 3 different volt meters, analog on the dash, multi meter on the DC panel and a hand held multi meter. All of the above options have been performed. Sti...

Yes. The stern rail is a so cal thing or more (west coast). So is the bow rail coming all the way back to the back of the bridge also you'll notice the bait tank in the center of the deck. We do a lot of our fishing on anchor. That's why most of our boats have bow pulpits ( not very liked on this bo...

A very easy way to match the fly bridge corners it to do a "quick mold" as I call them.
