Re: 1977 Bertram 28 Purchase
My first boat was an 81 28 with 228hp Mercs. The stringers had been replaced by the previous owner, so I'd be shocked if they weren't a problem on the 77 you're looking at. I don't fish so my boat was lightly loaded, but I could cruise mine around 21-22 knots at 3200rpms. I could be wrong (I sold th...

Re: Bye Bye 440's...
Bob,
Not to high jack the thread, but I'm interested in one of those oil filter relocation kits. That is the one job I hate more than anything on my 33. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I have 300hp 6BTA's (cpl 0970).
Thanks!

That's what I had in mind. I didn't know if someone had an original pair hanging around that they wanted to sell.
I'll check pompanette's website to see what they have.

Thanks for selling her to me Mike. We'll keep her in great condition.
I'm meeting the canvas guy tomorrow for a mooring cover.
Was also planning on going to the Providence boat show tomorrow for some seating ideas, but it looks like its going to be shitty out.

No fishing. Just using it as a run-about. I know there were seats as an option as another boat I looked at last summer had them.

Not sure if this boat belongs to some one here, but my advice would be: 1. Take the crap out of the v-berth. You're advertising that there's no storage on the boat. 2. Remove the cushion from the helm seat as you're also advertising that the boat is uncomfortable to run as is. 3. Reduce the price by...

My bet is its electrical. 13 years ago, I changed the points ignition to brank new Merc Thunderbolt iginitions on my B28. The best thing with the arbor rite is you can get in a ton of colors. Maybe the 33's are different, but this was the most applicable replacement for what was originally on the boat.

Glad to hear you were able to sell the 20. I'm just sorry I was not in a position to buy it myself. To answer your question, I did not cry when I sold my 28 back in 2002 as I knew I was moving up to a 33 which I still have.

Seems a little steep. I paid $22K for a pair of RTO 300 B-series (2000 hours) with brand new ZF's back in 2006/2007. I think $15K-$17K would be better.

This boat would still be for sale of it was listed for $100K. I love it when people make these super custom, one off, major dollars, science projects and then try to sell them. Sure, everyone wants to spend a half million and have to crap/piss in between the v-berths.
Good luck with that.
