Mark, My thoughts and prayers go to Mara, you and your wife, it seems there is not a day when you guys don't cross my mind. I know we've never met in person, but it doesn't matter in the least. That cute little blonde girl has a magical smile, and I know she displays it well!!! I hope you guys have ...

I wouldn't do it due to the excessive cost in doing so. That being said, I would do it for the performance changes. I watched a 13 year old girl dock the Volvo boat at the Tred Barta tourney this summer. That boat is 70' long. She made it look easy. I love the anchor feature. There is a lot to love....

Chocorua - Ed Millian?
Anyone hear from Ed lately?
I noticed his boat is up on Craigslist, asking $16,000. I miss those guys, nice family.
Hope all is well with them!!!

Ive had a couple conversations with him. He's a nice guy! He had Carl from Elite Marine do most of the work. Totally hands off, but that is how some do it. Carl did a beautiful job on her. Bob was kind enough to send me some pictures. Much of the work was re-doing the entire interior layout. Its pre...

Believe me, not upset in the least. I understand where you are coming from completely. Perhaps better to say comprehend, rather than understand. Having not been there, it could be said I will never understand. Many of us here know people who were there. Some are not here anymore. On that day I just ...

Tom is right, the guy in mystic is very well thought of. I can find out if he is still around if you want me to. When and if I ever tackle the major phase three renovation of my boat, I will replace the original flushmount, however it is more because I want a centerline mount, and to use the dash sp...

The boat with 440's will burn 24 gallons an hour at an 18 knot cruise. Plus or minus. Parts were getting harder and harder to find back when I repowered. I think it takes a unique mechanic now. Plan to repower... But the good news is you still may be able to buy 240 Yanmars internationally, and that...

Mike, Actually I think you should call Tim to get the story. It would make a great read, and you would be the perfect writer to get it right! A log came up on the beach just down from our house yesterday. It was 20+ feet long and a solid 15-20 inches thick. It had impact marks all down it from some lucky fellow who will probably be buying a new propellor this week. Or more. I took it pretty easy this weekend. I was content to let the boat...

I liked the car because I thought it was slick as hell, and drove like a bat out of the same place. Its charge/discharge cycle worked for me given the way I typically drive. If I need our pickup truck, I take it. But for zipping, and I mean zipping around, this car is slick as the bottom of a bus dr...

For those of you who think they storm was over hyped... I re-iterate, nearly the entire drive from the coast of CT to the MA border on 395 had no cell service and no power. Even in MA, it was spotty. Lets not even go to Upstate NY and VT. And if you own a boat, remember all that stuff that comes out...

Rawleigh, We were spared. We are east enough that we escaped with minor water. If it had been 100 miles to the east, or even 50 I guess, we would have been, in a manner of speaking, screwed. Or at least swimming again. But this time the power held, and we made it through with only minor wet. Thanks ...

Robbie, an alternative is to have a transfer switch put in and an external plug in. Then you can buy a genset that runs only what you need, and you don't have to have the big box outside. And it is portable. To go back to the life raft analogy, its like having a fixed cannister mount vs. a valise pa...

Harry, Both Liz and I took a ride in a Tesla in Seattle a year or so ago. IT WAS THE COOLEST ###### CAR I HAVE EVER BEEN IN!!!!!!!! Unbelievable. In so many ways. They are coming out with a 4 door sedan soon, and it will be below $50,000. I would seriously consider buying one. Just an incredible car...

Thankfully our only real close call was near flooding at our flood prone plant. But the power stayed on, and the pumps pumped, and all was well. A moist basement but that was nothing! Exactly the reason to remove the canvas, that and you don't want it shredded. 8' above mean high in CT. It just dawned on my parents what we have to do. I am headed down in about 10 minutes to get my life raft out of the basement (guess why!) and so on... and probably mandatory evacuation as of tomo...

Bob, Only thing I would ask them to do is to strategically put the boat up against a good building. So you are in the lee of the predominant winds. This as opposed to being out in the middle of an open parking lot... My yard does not have bolts in the ground. Just got off the phone with them, and th...

Yeah, guys, that was my thought. Heading down tonight to bring it to the yard. I'll strip all the canvas and such on Saturday am. Storm is supposed to hit here, in whatever form on sunday. It will at least rain up here... My slip is pretty shallow, so high water might not be good. Low water would be...
