Re: Underwater light color...
Perhaps I should have been more clear. Tom, I don't have to choose, I want to choose. I can have custom made lights that mix and match. However they are built for clarity and brightness, and Harrison does not make lights that change colors. There are technical reasons why compromises are made when l...

Underwater light color...
Ok, kicking the hornets nest.
I am doing new underwater lights. Any PROVEN advantage or disadvantage to color choice?
I am considering royal blue or white, and am inclined to go with white.

Re: What high horsepower engines for a 31
One of the things I used to hear often coming from those who were repowering from gas to diesel is that they wanted bigger hp to provide power in reserve. I am not hearing that from anyone here, however I want to drop in the mechanics perspective from those who work on my boat. And trust me, I am op...

Re: What high horsepower engines for a 31
Believe me I get it. Look, when I repowered, I put a set of 240 hp Yanmars in. I cruise all day long at 23-24 knots, burning 11 gph. Much of the time I can't actually keep up that speed because its just too bumpy. I will break the boat, stuff in the boat, etc. Its reality. If you live somewhere wher...

Alex, Your money, your boat. The post I made earlier this week of the one with the outboards is evidence of that. But heres the real deal. The Bertram 31 is a classic, and it is not designed for 40 knots. Build and run the boat within its design intent and limits and you will likely be happy. Patric...

When I said Holy Crap, I didn't mean I would do my boat like that! But, couple things. Did you notice the tow strap on the bow? She is outfitted to be a tender if they wanted. Definitely a day boat, and we all have the luxury of outfitting or using our boats the way we want to. I think the interior ...

I believe I have picked out the hull color, bootstripe color, and bottom should be in process of being stripped as we speak. At least it should have been done earlier today.
This is a whole new experience for me. :)
