I have a friend who may have sold his 31. The buyer wants the pulpit, tower and electronics gone. No survey, as is where is. The boat will be going to Greece for a full restoration, and then to a buyer as yet unknown. Europe and the rest of the world are flexing the muscles with a weak dollar, that ...

All I can say as a manufacturer is that it is pretty staggering how quickly and significantly the raw material prices have and will rise in the near future. Steel is up very significantly. And we are not a minor customer. Prices are only good for a few days. It is interesting. I love to take the boa...

Chris, That was the boat! Too cool. John and I spoke a few times. I have a picture of me at about 8 to 11 years old, standing in the cockpit, wearing a denim covered life jacket, proudly hoisting a little yellowfin tuna with all my might! It is hanging in my parents room. Now you know how I caught t...

I was aware of Strike, and they share a bloodline with Striker, but are a bit different! The 33' I fished and spent time on was a one off, and not the 34' canyon runner. It was made in the late 70's, and probably sold in the early 80's, so your friend may have had it. However there is a big differen...

On a boat, I would fix it. It is only necessary that it fail when you need it most... My old Chrysler 440's had the same thing. They always leaked, even after new seals. Apparently it is hard to get them to seat right... Or the mechanic I used had his head somewhere it shouldn't have been, and he wa...

Walter, A Striker center console???? Wow! I grew up fishing on a 33' Striker that was sold and sent over to Moriches, NY. That was the last I heard of it. It was Strike Three when it was in CT, and was re-named Precious Metal over in NY. Anyone over there know the boat? Fond memories... You are righ...

They have been doing a lot of construction around one of our shops. ONe day the lights were down at the far end of the busy road. The cop was suiting up, but there was a dimwitted driver up at the intersection. I gave it a good honk to urge them along. I think the cop wet himself, as he was looking ...

I have 4 blades on my 31. I think they are smoother. They are more efficient at cruise. I know I lose top end, but I never run there, and it ain't a race boat, so I don't care about that. I burn less fuel at cruise. That is what matters. And I have a good amount more torque delivery to the water bot...

Hueso, Bruce hit it right on the head. I bought Yanmars, and love them. I have no issue with Cummins, however there is no (zero, zip, nada) service available in the Mystic, CT area. Nothing. Period. Yanmar has excellent dealers, and the one I bought from is one of the best. I am lucky to have that r...

I know this was recently hashed, so I apologize in advance for the repeat. I wasn't paying close enough attention to remember real detail. Free Safety Seminar at Life Raft and Survival
Hey guys, Life Raft and Survival in Portsmouth, RI has been a supporter of NE rendezvous in prior years. I believe they gave a free life raft inspection, and it was won by Mitch who owns Mojo. They emailed me to tell me that they will be having a free safety seminar at thier facility in Portsmouth o...

Dug, Rather than have a Bertram 33 rendezvous open to all comers, why not step up into Neils shoes and take over the NE Bertram rendezvous so there are not multiple regional events?
