And most models are still made in the USA.
Speaking of that I just bought another pair of what I believe are technically called "dykes" (not to be confused with slang parlance for you know what.) or otherwise known as wire cutters made by Klein.
Nice tools.

Wow. Harv, when you get the time and mind to log in here, I expect you will find a long list of condolences. I feel for you. I am thinking of you. I am not going to claim to have advice for you. I have not been there, though I know I will some day. Know you are loved by your friends, and your family...

Scooter, Whether they have a factory there or not, they do not manufacture every bearing they are able to sell. I am glad you are happy with the bearings you bought! I am glad to know they sell them, as it may be where I go when the next time comes! I like them, they are good people. The quality com...

I have the Yanmar 240's. I did not need to change shafts. However if I were to have gone with the 315's I would have needed to change shafts per everyone I talked with. You are repowering. Either way you are spending a good solid chunk of change. Don't try to "get away with" anything. Just do it rig...

Scooter, FYI, RBI is a bearing importer/distributor. They don't make anything themselves. But I am sure that RBI is the source if she says so. http://www.rbibearing.com/ is the website. They are great people. I have been in their Chicago distribution office and through the warehouse. I liked what I ...

While I have many friends who still live and work in NYC, the first person I think of when I think of that day is Frank Fimmano. I will never forget before 9/11 he posted a story of having seen a Bertram 31 from his office. It turned out to be Double Bogey of Fishers Island, a boat I know well. Then...

Doug, That has always been one of my greatest fears on my boat. I feel for you having fallen out of a boat once, but with nowhere near the same level of repercussions. Dave, Do you have a place at home where you could "stick" it? Then you would not be beholden to anyone for storage charges, and you could peck away at it in any spare time. And wait a bit for the boat market to recover. See the post where Steve Miller just bought a boat for way less than the cost of...

Relocating is the long term plan for many reasons. One of the challenges is location however, as many of our employees are local. As you know your greatest asset is your employee base, so there is only so far we can go without creating the potential of losses on that front. We are insured, and that ...

Billy, Mike and I run the same set up in roughly the same boat. I agree with much of what he says, and have this to add. You need Nibral. Our boats take a lot to push, as the deep v is not a particularly efficient hull. In exchange for that you get a good or better than average ride. Those props wor...

If the jacket is Gore tex, there is a spray on product that will rejuvinate the waterproof nature of gore tex. If not, I am sure that Brewster is correct. If that fails to live up to your satisfaction it can absolutely be waterproofed by wearing a set of Grundens over it. The overalls and jacket by ...
