:) No worries Ed! As Scott said, we all friends here! Giants had a solid win over the weekend too if I recall! there are a few really good solid teams out there. Parity seems to be the way it is at the top. That being said, we should enjoy it while we can, as I think there may not be football next y...

Now Ed, don't you think that was a bit of an over reaction to what Scott said? Up here in NE, and I am sure down there in NY, we have been subjected to the media hype (Yes, media hype, not hype created by the teams themselves) about how this is the ultimate grudge match, the biggest rivalry in sport...

Mike, I like that idea! Brew, it isn't intolerable if you negotiate in advance for a group rate. It was about the same as everywhere else we have gone. I did like Greenport, it was a great spot. Pulling up while Caesar was being murdered was a bit surreal! I understood it better the next day. No dou...

Greenport was pretty damned good. I would vote for Newport, RI however. 2 reasons. 1) Variety is the spice of life. 2) We had virtually no one from north of RI, and there are a lot of boats up there! Do you want it to be able to include those from MA once in while? If Newport is a possibility, we ou...

Peter, The B31 hull is not the most efficient hull out there. That means it takes power to push it through the water. With your small props you more than likely have effects of cavitation instead of corrosion, though you never know. The cavitation will eat little holes in the trailing edge of the bl...

John, Thanks for the reminder. I couldn't remember who bought them! I am glad you got 'em and that they are working well. Peter, Your blades are not the right size. Either of what John has are right. You will be fine with them. The 4 blade will be a smaller diameter and less pitch because you have m...

Peter, I have a cockpit cover as I too have teak decks. My cover has a bungee cord that runs in and out of it around the outer edge, and it goes over hoods screwed to the hull. It tensions the cover. I would never want to do one with screws or clips. No matter what you do the material will stretch. ...

I am with Vic but I have an inverter and it covers most of that. with the inverter you will need an 8-D house battery but it is the best option if you don't need AC (Air conditioning). If you need AC the inverter is not an option. Not enough umph. With AC you will need the genset. Otherwise an inver...

Pete, Pull the plug if she's on land. A boat filling with water on land is a real possibility. It does happen. When you pull the plug, you don't need to worry. A 37' Bertram sank on land next to me a couple years ago. THey had no hull plug, and the bilge pump froze. It killed the battery. They never...

I would opt for anti freeze (nontoxic) instead of rock salt. Salt is really corrosive especially when concentrated. 'nuf said... As long as the boat is in the water, don't really need to worry about water in the bilge freezing. When its out of the water, shrink wrap it. And pull the hull plug. Add a...

I strongly dislike the boat, but I have to say I love the lights. Since I bought and installed underwater lights a couple years ago, I have to say I wouldn't want a boat without them. They really attract fish at the canyons, bait, and all kinds of life. And in the harbor its like having your own lit...

Hueso is the man!!!!!
Liz and I spent Thursday of last week until Monday of this week in Puerto Rico for a wedding. The wedding party stayed at a pretty swank hotel in the Condado section of San Juan called La Concha. Pretty nice. I will say that the party was the best (I mean wedding!) I have ever been to. Off the top. ...

Well, you guys who know the long time history on this board, and I mean the 10 year guys, know that there was a fun friend named Timmy or Thudd who functioned much like our court jester for many years. Ok, I have been silenced (for a moment). I forwarded the link to Liz, who also thought it hilarious. Then she asked the following question - "Yes. Its good info I would think for Hueso! I re-powered with 240 Yanmars. I kept the 1 3/8" size but put in new aquamet 22 shafts. I didn't know the age or history of the old ones. I consider them to be wear items after a certain point. If I had put in the 315's, I would have upsized to the 1.5" shafts....

Re-Chrome. It is a very good option, and looks right. You have to be careful where the stainless comes from. I re-chromed all the stuff on Alchemy about 7-8 years ago, and it still looks pretty damned good for the most part. I used American Electro plating in NJ. Dave Mitchell is very familiar with ...
