My favorite Uncle Vic line came many years ago at the Flop House. In fact my buddies still bring it up and laugh about it. Somehow the subject of toilet paper came up and UV made a comment "that using cheap toilet paper is like wiping your ass with wax paper."

Thanks for the replies. I can't see the downside to Cummins either. People ask me what is the worst case scenario that can happen with these engines and I don't know how to answer them since I have had no issues with the engines. I guess a blown turbo? I think at the price I am asking it incorporate...

Rupp is the way to go for sure. If you are specific to Cabo most of the 31 boats down there have short, 15-18' riggers with no spreaders. Much different from here in the NE, I went with 28.5" double spreader Rupp Tournament riggers for my boat due to the type of fishing we do...or did.

If you do want diesels just be patient and shop around, boatdiesel and the like often have pretty decent deals. I rolled the dice on my rebuilt Cummins 6BTA 300hp for 12K for the pair and 15K total including ZF trannys.

There is no way an OB powered 31 will handle as well as a 31 Bert with inboards. Hell, I noticed a night and difference when I repowered from 454's to 300hp Cummins due to the torque, larger props, etc. I can only imagine the OB's with high rpms and little props would be like taking 10 steps backwar...

I had a small bench made into the aft section of the 1/2 tower. It's wide enough to fit a cheek and rest comfortably against. I do remember how the boat feels at 26+knts as it seems to lighten up and run higher. I remember seeing 30.8knts before the redo with full fuel and 4 adults. It feels a bit wasteful having these 300hp 6BTA's and "only" getting 26knts when i know there is more to be had.

Possibly, house is due to be completed in mid July so I might be moving and I still haven't decided if the boat is going in next season. I'm pretty sure it will, no boat looks good on the hard during the summer. I only put about 5hrs on the boat this past season.
