While you can buy an ex-Virginia Marine Patrol 31 for around $30,000 and suit yourself how you restore it, and more importantly suit yourself about how much you want to believe it will cost, or any of the other 1850-odd B31s built, it is going to be very hard for anyone to sell new 31s or look-alike...

I was very unimpressed with the "fairing block" and threw that piece of plastic out. Extra time and effort went into an integral fibreglass fairing block that can take a hit. I think the placement is crucial, away from the strakes, low down, accessible from the inside but high enough from the center...

Brewster, A Question?

How did it all turn out for that young lady who would only date a Bertram 31 owner? Was it petrols or diesels, flybridge cruiser or sportfish and did that make any difference?

Having been there at the very beginning I think we should be told.

Scot, To me there is no reason for a 24kn boat to have a surface drive. Most conventional drives top out at 39kn or so due to drag, (imho), unless you are......can't remember his name "That's My Hon" 1980s Palm Beach 55kn until Jack Nicklaus bought it and threw out the MTUs and put in another cabin....
