Re: Hynautic engine control fluid substitute

That is correct. Its in the service manual for the controls. I ran the prestone three times through a pack of paper filters ( very slow process) and got nothing. But as I stated you must use the stuff with no silicates in it.

Re: Hynautic engine control fluid substitute

I used prestone advanced formula (yellow in color) a few years back and all is well. It has no leakstop or silicates in it. Make sure you get the right one there are several that have silicates. I bought their ( Hynautic) stuff about 10 years ago and when I went through the system during the winter ...

Re: End of the season

15 min. from the house is great. It is a nice place to winter. I liked the fact the place is secured but heck no one lives near the place!! For a north Jersey guy its pretty sparse down there. Only place in NJ that I have been where you can drive for twenty minutes and just see trees.

Re: End of the season

I brought my boat down to Jersey Cape from Manasquan for the winter of 2010/2011. Super nice place. There were a few reasons why I never went back but the 85 mile ride from North Jersey was the main one.. I spend many days in the winter just messing around with the damm thing and the ride got to me ...

Not to bad Charlie. Biggest knock is that is a wet boat. The 31 is a Lou Codjea design. So it rides soft. It is a big little boat if that makes any sense

Re: 32 TOPAZ

I owned two 31 berts (one flybridge and one express) and now own a 31 cabo. The cabo is a better ride than the berts I owned. Not a very fair comparison for the cabo is pushing 21 thousand pounds in the slings loaded and just is a larger boat.

Bob, What in Gods name are you talking about? This is not a hard question to answer.. If you own a mechanical 3116 or 3126 you must use single grade 30 or 40 weight oil...I am not saying so caterpillar is. If your 3126 is mechanical( not a 3126b) you must use 30 or 40 wt oil. There is a cat service letter on this. Cat wants you to use there oil is call SAEO but single weight rottella is ok.
