Tony,
I've wondered if that would be the case. It makes sense. I've also wondered if you could use a halon system to actually shut a diesel down that was in a run on situatuion

Carl, Mastercraft uses a ZF V-drive in their boats (or they did about 20 or so years ago) Within 250 hours, the input shaft seals would fail. I've replaced many of them. Just the was up into the 200 dollar range, Unbelievable. I tried to source that seal out to our local seal and bearing facility wi...

what country do you live in and what fuel? here in the USA fuel tanks cannot be built into the boat itself. There are boats that are still built today that do this , how they get away with it I don't know ( never mind EPA requirements for fuel tanks in regards to emissions on new boat built). By bu...

You also need one inspection opening per baffled compartment, wide enough to fit your whole arm in case you have to inspect and clean the tank. Yeah, the cabin sole hatch was a piece of wolmanized plywood that I assume the previous owner made himself. He was in the middle of installing the bathroom/shower, and had a water tank in the bilge under the hatch.

Those engines can handle past 200 degrees about 210 to 215 before you start having failures. I wouldn't want my exhaust hose at those temps though. I think the max temp on regular shields marine are 250 degrees. I wouldn't run a marine engine over 185 for to long. A safe and comfortable temp is 165-...
