John,
The hardtop is a factory original. It may be the only one left on a 31. As far as size, let me know the measurements you want and I'll measure.

Thanks Mean Michael from you that's high praise. Did a little cocktail cruise yesterday with a house full for the Urbanna Oyster Festival. Best oysters in years. Perfectweather. Autumn sky full of color and seventy degrees. Rock fish still in the creeks and refusing to leave because the weather here...

Harry, Here's what I know: First, the John W. Brown is the last Liberty ship afloat as I understand. It lives on the Chesapeake Bay and gives summer cruises. http://www.liberty-ship.com There is a part of a Ghost Fleet in the York River in Virginia which is being sold for scrap and to prevent leakag...

Bob, My tank swap was a 31 not 28. Don't know if there is a difference but Patrick will. First, remove the deck. Easy, huh? Now, I used a long thin piece of steel to run down between the tank and stringers and the tank and bulkheads to cut the foam. Lots of small passes and you will know when you bo...

John, I will be working for a friend with a booth between Fleet Reserve Club and Fawcett's. This is a new clothing store from Irvington called Jimmy and Sooks. It carries it's own original line of Crab embroidered clothing. Very cool stuff. Check his web site: www.jimmyandsook.com. Come by and see m...

Guys, Don't want to appear anal about this item but first I avoid Perko at all costs. Their favorite metal is chrome-plated zamak(sp) which I translate as chrome-plated corrosion. Can't understand why a company selling hardware for boats used in a salt-water environment would foist a highly corrosiv...

Mack, Have been going to the Urbanna Oyster Festival since it's inception in 1956. Going again this year, probably Friday, and by Bertram of course. When you stay at the Tides Inn you were about 1/2 mile from the house, next time you're coning, call. The Inn sold the Miss Anne to a guy in Colonial B...

Walt, Thanks. If I do it this way it will come down the hull to the waterline and be tied underneath. Padding is a must as I found out on my new curved windows. A loose piece of shrink wrap flapping against the plastic left very fine scratches on one side which I have not attacked as yet since I nee...

windshield adjuster
Since many of you are removing or covering your windshields has anyone got the adjuster knobs? All four windshield sections on Dreamsicle are operative and don't leak enough to justify sealing or covering. Also I like the fresh air in the summer. The knobs on mine all have a threaded metal insert in...

Shrink rap will last several years especially if not used year round. I talked with my yard guys and suggested that I might shrink rap to the water line with a zipper door for working access and in the spring cut the sides up to the rub rail and slip the whole thing off and store until the next wint...

You sly old fart, did your B-day slip by us unnoticed yesterday? I was playing movie star and was out.
You're still a month younger than I and always will be.

Me neither.

Haven't tried this yet but thought about putting a piece of window gasket (sticky-back closed-cell foam) between the box and deck. I have Cabrera's decks and boxes so the deck turns up and is 1 1/2 inches above the deck level. However wash down and rain allow water to sneak in and do exactly what yo...

Harry, Dreamsicle is becoming a real boat again. Still with the bugs, but slowly getting them sorted. She is a fabulous creek cruiser for the cocktail set and until I get her worthy of taking on the worst that the Bay can throw at her and her geriatric steward she looks good and has the locals askin...

Place those suckers so that in an ugly sea when a filter clogs or water appears in the bowl you can get at it. I placed them at the aft end of the engine box with plenty of room to work. HAte lying on a hot engine to do filter maintenance. http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x54/mikeylikesitnow/P1010...

Harv, Lobster on me when you get out. May have to wait until next Atlantic City but it gives you plenty of time to recover. Randall, Harry Love to see those chisels in the box. Reminds me of my Grandfather's. He had a shop twenty by forty. Two drill presses, three table saws, shapers, routers, a twelve-inch planer, clamps of every size. A row of chisels to make you drool, and the piece-d-resistance a lathe that would tur...
