Re: Bertram 25 Weight...for towing
I was towing my B25 95 miles each way from home to the coast until I rented a shed. Didn’t like it a bit. Was using a 2500 Suburban with the 6.0 engine. It stopped well but was way under powered. I now use a Expedition EL, longer wheelbase, with the 5.4 and it has more power and tows OK but stopping...

Re: bertram 25 repower
You should be just fine with the twin 150’s either Yamaha’s or Suzuki’s. I have a B25 with twin 3.0’s and cruise at 27 - 29 mph at 3500 rpm spinning 14x19 wheels getting right at 2 mpg. I would think twin outboards on a bracket should get better mileage and a higher cruise speed not to mention a muc...

Re: First Blood
Nice catch. Wahoo's are one of the Most delicious fish. Cut into steaks smear with butter add green onions, garlic, lemon slices, and wrap with foil. Place on the grill or in the oven, @350, for fifteen minutes. Muy Rico!

Re: 25 BERTRAM
The boat looks very nice. I’m surprised she only cruises at 20 -25 knots. I have the 25 Sport fish and have the same cruise numbers with the weight and air resistance of the fly bridge. He might not have her propped correctly. Last year I spun a hub and had to limp in on one screw. Could only go 8 –...

Re: B25 Upper Station Gauges and Wiring Question
I have a copy of the original owner manual for a 1972 25 if any one wants a copy. PM me and I will forward you a copy. Fished out of Venice last Friday and the weather couldn’t have been any better. Maybe one foot seas. Went one for three on the Hoos and struck out on the swords and tunas, to many s...

I think the idea compiling Uncle Vic’s many recipes would be a great idea. Here is a family recipe for Redfish courtbouilon, (Cou-be-on for the non-Cajun types). In a large port, preferably a cast iron, sauté with medium heat, ½ cup of olive oil, 1 cup of green onions, 2 cups of white onions, 3 ...

Uncle Vic, Although we have never met I am saddened to of hear of your decision to acquiesce to the rigors the treatments you’ve been battling. Some might not understand or accept this decision yet there are those of us that truly love our family, not to mention our own self dignity, value being a...
