I have a 1985 28 w/ Merc 260's. Original w/ 1550 hours. I went down an inch to 17x16 when I bought the boat to get up to 4400, which is at or near the top of the RPM spec. My boat holds 240 gallons. When It's full, I get 18.5-19 knots at 3000 RPM's. Normal load, a little over 20. I don't think I'd g...

I have an '85 28 w/ original 350's, 1500 hours. Props are 17x16. 3200rpm gives me 22 knots or so, although I normally cruise at 2950-3000, which is about 20 knots depending on fuel load, seas, etc. At 3200 the secondaries are opening up my 31 yr. old quadrajets. Leigh

Kevin: Interlux VC-17 (with teflon) over barrier coat gives a slick bottom with no paint buildup. it's real thin, so fouling protection is only fair.
