Used Diesels
Joel: You mentioned the Yanmar dealer was in Washington. I do not know where you are located. If you are on the east coast shipping will come into play and if there are problems you will probably have little means to adddress them. I'd go with factory remans from a local dealer with a good reputatio...

Yanmars
Scott: I have the 260s it's my fourth season. I am happy with them. You can also put in 240s (4 cylinders.) Cummins factory remans, if inexpensive may be the way to go if you do not run up the hours. The members with the the 240 Yanmars claim similar stats to mine with better fuel economy. I have a ...

Thresher Tatoo?
We caught a thresher shark. It had a four digit number tatooed on its lower torso near the tail. Has anyone ever seen or heard of anything like this?
Kindly advise.
Thanks in advance,
Mike G

Repower
I repowered with 260 Yanmars. I am happy. Other members have repowered with the 240s and 315s. I have not heard any complaints. When I shopped in 2002-03 the Yanmars were significantly cheaper than the 330 Cummins. I even had room for a 5 Kw genset on the starboard side. Repower plus the genset ran ...

Gentlemen: Thank you both, I guess I'll proceed from the ridiculous to the sublime and as Felix says. "never assume." 1. It may be trim as I was trying to compensate for a starboard lean early in the day. (Caused by ice and the generator) What is the best method to properly trim a 31 FBC? I have Ben...

Steering
We ran about 150 miles round trip on Saturday. The boat (31 fbc 260 Yannies) seemed to oversteer to starboard. I had to constantly correct. Especially on the way home in a beam sea. I do not have the really small rudders but do not have Capt Patrick's big ones either. I had some work done over the w...
