Re: 25 Bertram Express with outboard splash

I agree with 25 plus knots being the best cruise speed in B25. That is where I normally cruise at unless the weather is too snotty. Regarding the engine ventilating - it sounds like it is only just a little too high, so perhaps some prop work to make the prop work in at this higher level would be th...

Sam's Marine in Fort Lauderdale has the fuzzy stuff and the plastic channel side stuff.
However note they are really a vintage Hatteras supplier bought the above from them and it does fit the Bertrams.

When engine dies is coil hot to the touch? If so probably voltage to coil is too high

Originally 31000 customers without power, down to about 6000 now. As population is about 65,000 that probably means about 80% originally lost power. Recovery is way better than prior hurricanes. I was back on line in under 30 hours.

The clicking could be a rocker arm that has pulled the stud due to a sticky valve. I would pull rocker covers and start engine and observe the valves to see if they are all operating/not stuck. If this, a pretty easy fix.

The awlgrip coverage of 210sq ft is at the dry film thickness, which is usually about 3 coats, not the coverage of one coat. Mine has the molded in vents on the bow as well. this one, like mine is one of the early ones that still had the curved windshield. Mine is a 62.
If yours is newer and /or has the squared off windshield, perhaps they did away with the molding for the vents.

My view on this plate is that the number is 206 848.

The 20 refers to the size, the 6 refers to the style, much like the 31's. My 20 Sportsman starts out as 204.

the 848 is the hull number.
