i'm sad to say i'm one of those folks not putting in this year. i'll still get on the water every day in a kayak, a surfboard, a canoe , a stand up paddle board, or the inflatable......but i cant swing the bertram. its almost memorial day and there are LOTS of empty slips at the town dock.

The system has utterly failed. You're better off not hiring. actually what i did was pour acetone down the intake manifold with the carbs removed. i cleaned them separately. i took the plugs out and turned it over with the starter till it ran clean .........well, a lot cleaner. i took precautions but it threw a lot harder than i expected.....kinda like underc...

this is one area where 25s have it over 31s.....running on one engine. even with inboards and the micro rudders its quite doable in a 25.

good luck with your search but consider docking a 31 on one engine is gonna get old fast if its anymore than pulling up abeam to a bulkhead or floating dock.

i never turn off the blower if im running. i have blocks that fit in the intake vents because thats where all the foredeck water runs. i occasionally forget to take them out (did it with patrick and bruce on the boat) and the engines run fine......plenty of air gets in there ......not to mention wat...

the original plumbers were nice enough to put the original well head in the basement so it really takes a lot to make it flood.

bob....if its 15 foot you wont have any trouble finding waves near montauk. all the slightly offshore reefs will show. some might even break...like "great eastern".

mac ..no attack. at least ive never had any kind of problem (no anti viral softwear) and it seems to work quick and without all the drama of PCs. i have no vested interest and i hear PCs are much better at spreadsheet kinds of things but EVERY artist, photographer and architect i know has a mac.

hell bob....marshall (suzi's pissed) and i ran 55 miles in adriving rain with no enclosure. we had to keep resetting the GPS because his glasses got so wet he couldnt see at all . "um , randall...tell me when we're 15 degrees off"

my boat has a lower helm..........very very nice in hard rain.
