caren and i went out to mother's day dinner at a waterfront restaurant around the corner. nice sunset and a view of what has to be the most bubbly bubble boat on the planet. how would you like to throw an anchor off that bow in a six foot sea? reminds me of the unfortunate soul who had to slip his i...

mine didn't seem to leak at all...but we're talkin a 25 so a lot less surface area. i kept the bilge bone dry so if it didn't rain and there was water.....i'd investigate. found a few leaky hoses that way.

Kevin..i had the PSS and they worked perfectly for the 12 years i had the boat ....BUT ...as a friend of mine once told me..."the enemy of good is better". if its worked fine for 30 years why open that can of worms? unless you are doing a complete running gear refit. my 2 cents.

bruce....i gave exactly that a lot of thought when i built my crash valve system. so i made them as easy to use as possible. to me the deciding factor was can you stop the water from coming in? if you can its the big bilge pumps. if you can't...like a hole or broken off running gear i figured i coul...

i had crash valves but never had to use em. i did have over a foot of water in the bilge when i blew a raw water hose. two 2500 GPH pumps emptied her pretty fast. another time a neighbor's bertram was pretty flooded at the dock after a hurricane. i'm pretty familiar with the area. it can certainly get "sporty". the short answer is the boat can take more than you can. take bob's advice and maybe brewster will chime in. around there i was always more afraid of the shipping lanes than the ocean. (small sail boat)

i think its the "eldorado"...13 foot with straight trim lines along the rub rail. the larger boats swoop down a bit at the transom. the fins are WAY out of proportion to the boat. i mean like seriously huge!
