Re: Replaced Heat Exchanger
Yes, Im sorry. I have the twin Mercruiser 350' 260 MIE Engines. I was really anticipated seeing a scaleing issue when I took the end caps off and when I didn't I was wondering if I just wasted money on the new Heat Exchanger. It seem to me that a change in water temperature would not like solve the ...

Replaced Heat Exchanger
Morning and I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I've been avoiding replacing the heat exchanger on my 86' B28 knowing ist an expensive item. This past summer I had a slow rising temperature on the port engine at higher speeds that would cool down when I brought the boat back to slow speed or ...

Re: Trim Tab repair
It does not appear as thought zincs on the tabs. The holes for the screws are larger then they should be indicating deterioration of the metal tab. Looks like the screws with head still in boat and 3 screws missing. Hose to actuator toren and needing replaced.I dont have a way of lifting the boat so ...

Trim Tab repair
Once again I am looking to the board for some advice. The starboard trim tab came unbolted fro the bottom of my 28FB this past weekend and was hanging by the actuator. I was able to disconnect the tab plate from the actuator and it appears the hydraulic line is also damaged. My question is does anyo...

Re: Main Engine fuse keeps popping
Thank you Tooez, I look forward to your email with the diagrams. Also, I took your suggestion regarding the ac install and dropped the lower floor of the salon seat to fit mine in that space. It works wonderful. I have a primary 5" duct blowing up from the left locker into the main area but need to ...

Main Engine fuse keeps popping
Took my old girl out today and while just getting up to 3100 RPMs out of my home port, starboard engine shuts down, with no electrical power. After checking for obvious possible signs for the loss of power, I checked the main engine fuse in the vBerth for the starboard engine is was blown. It had a ...

Fuel consumption calculation
I need some help determining how much fuel I am burning per hour. My understanding is that my B28 with its original 350' gassers burn rate is approx. 1.2 GPH but I was hoping to dial that it more accurately at all RPM's. Is my option to install a Fuel Consumption Guage and if so, has anyone done thi...

Re: B28 Air Condition install ideas
Well, it took a little longer to get it to fit than I expected. I had to cut out the bottom of the seat base to drop the unit about an inch. Holes are cut for the 5" duct and electrical going to the units control panel which is installed in the locker. Next will be the seapump to and existing seacoc...

Re: B28 Air Condition install ideas
I do have a question about the condensation drain. I see that Toeez mentioned the hose runs through the bulkhead and into in front of starboard engine. Is that where I want it to drain? SHould I be concerned with engine vapors possibly entering the cabin from this location? I'm now to having a boat ...

B28 Air Condition install ideas
I just received my Webasto 12,000 BTU a/c from Defender that I am planning to install in my 86 Bertram 28. I searched the forum and was hoping to see if some members had already completed an install like mine that could make suggestions to make my install a little easier. I am considering one of two...

B28 Transmission coupling Bolts
Good Morning gents, Yes , this is my first post on the forum. I purchased an 86 B28 FB last year and took it in to the shop to have some work done including tranny seals replaced, When I got the boat back, the coupling bolts were not tightened down all the way which was likely overlooked during rein...
