Re: Outriggers, Open Cabin and Engine Box Supports
I bought a pair of original Lee Sr. 4 foot bases and 22 foot poles from a guy who replaced them with newer outriggers. I always liked the look and the length seems to be the best, especially from the factory. If interested, they're for sale, PM me for photos and price.

There are 2 examples in the SEAL museum on A1A in Fort Pierce. I recognized the hull although nowhere can you find any info on them.
I have a couple of photos but can't post them here, they're not online and there isn't an upload feature in the site.

I also suggest you look at the Cobra MR F77(W for white, B for Black) GPS. Excellent unit very close to $200 and, Like Tony said, get the best antenna you can, I got a 8' 6db Shakespeare Galaxy and I receive the Miami Coast Guard transmissions all the way in Melbourne, over 200 miles away! Of course...

The Simrad GO9 is excellent and below $1600. I installed it on my boat and the images and detail are awesome. It does come with a transom transducer but you could always get an Airmar transducer inside the hull.

Back in my 1970's in Puerto Rico we had a 1970 B25 Flybridge with twin Mercruiser 165's. We fished her all around the island for fun and in many tournaments catching many billfish and numerous other species. The seas north of San Juan are notorious for being very rough during some seasons, sometimes...

I just saw a new episode of FS Project Dreamboat and one boatowner equipped his 31ft Contender, quite a heavy boat, with a Rhodan electric motor and I just saw this on BD Outdoors: "At last summer’s ICAST fishing tackle trade show, Minn Kota introduced the longest-shaft mass-produced bow-mount elect...

Re: Lee Jr. Bases on a B25
18' poles should be OK, 16' would look too small unless you're installing the bases on the flybridge. And remember, one of the purposes of the outriggers is to spread the trolled baits as far apart as posible to prevent tangles when turning so you want as much separation as posible. In addition, wit...

It's not a rumor, in a Motorboat magazine article in January 1977 it says that Sam Griffith, a Bertram yacht broker and racer insisted that the first boat be molded in a tangerine color for the 1961 New York Boat Show. I was reading a report on Formula boats on Boattest.com and the author said the following: "Ever see a boat that looks like it was designed by a committee? We have, and in every case it was actually designed by one. The Bertram 31 is a classic example of how a committee can ruin a good hull. Formula...

We recently purchased a 1983 26 outboard, after looking for some time. There seems to be very little information available about them. Some say as few as 8 were made; others say as many as 40. I have also heard that they were never actually in production, but were only made to order. Would be inter...
