I like the idea of using tape, I generated a bunch of firewood yesterday and don't want to keep wasting if I don't have to. Once I get the profile right I do want to make it out of OSB to make sure It works as expected as well as use it as a test bed for how to set up the helm

That ford must be a beast. I would have thought you'd need a dually to do what he is doing carrying the boat on top.

Most 3/4 ton trucks are good for carrying at least 2000# but I would think the work body would be pretty heavy

Yes those wheels were tiny, the Bertram was way too big for that trailer (it was for a 22' boat and rated for 4000# ) even so the Bertram made a 1000 mile trip home on it. My current trailer is much more substantial.
