28 Trim Tab Re-Mounting
Currently trim tabs are mounted to a solid piece of wood (2 x4 in the US) that is cracking and needs to be replaced. The boat is a 79 and from what I have seen on other boats around that era they used what looks like plywood first then mounted the tab flange to it. Unsure why the did this other than...

Re: Bilge Paint
I didn’t do it but previous owner used white gel coat and it’s held up great.
Only issue if you don’t keep it totally clean you’ll know it.

Re: New seats for the 28
I have almost the same helm bench seat but with no backrest hardware.Curious if you got yours from birdsall or if it was existing?
Also anyway you could get a pic of the backrest bracket mounting under the bench I would appreciate it.

Re: B28 Air Condition install ideas
Was thinking of installing ac on my 28 under the aft bench seat. The condensate drain would go into shower sump.
Please let me know how yours works out.

Re: Seeking Advice: Props for B28 w/ 350s
My 1979 28 was repowered to the 5.7 260 hp motors from the original 228 and props were changed from 17x16x1 to 17x17x1 1/4 . I cruise at 2800 rpms and depending on load average between 19-21 knots. Full throttle is 3900 rpm and 30 knots so I am considering going back to 17x16 since my motors should ...

Re: Dual Voltage refrigerators
Don,
I have a 3.9 cu ft dual volts made by Waeco on my 1979 28 . It was installed by the previous owner in 2005 just forward of the head port side and is a great fit.
West Marine has one that looks identical to it but it’s now a 3.8 and listed under Dometic.
