Re: Goodbye Faithful...
Captain Patrick, Where to begin... I first came to your forum back in 90's when looking for a 31 and members of the sand box helped me with the decision eventually made to buy the 8.2 powered 1977 fbc now named Crows Nest, aka the low rider. While no longer her steward ( sold her to John F, whom I m...

Here I am Charlie ! Good spending 45 mins on the phone with you. Also caught up with Mike via email. Between starting up the Land Rover Defender business and buying a run down farm in Va I have had little time for CrowsNest. In fact she's still in the water and its December. Hopefully we can all get...

Swim ? You had a knife in your hands. I haven't heard from that guy in years- thanking god. Remember when he got drunk in Atlantic City (first Mid Atlantic Rendezvous) and was sleeping on the pile of lines I had thrown off the boat onto the dock and the bilge pump was cycling spraying him with Detro...

Still here still have the boat. Bought an 80 acre farm @ the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia and have been spending most of my weekends there. Haven't burned 100 gallons of fuel in Crows Nest this year. Yeah that trip to Montauk from Annapolis was memorable- coming through Hell Gate as ...

I have a TWIK card for entering the Ports for my Land Rover Defender import/ hobby business, http://dividingcreekroverimports.com. Bruce, Yeah that first floor is where the garage, shop, and general man shed area is, and the house is well up above the water level. Not sure how sensational the predictions were but @ one point I heard a forecaster say there would be 40 ft waves coming in the channel into Galveston bay. That little...

The worst part of your trip will be the Deleware river and Bay from the nuclear power plant on. Mikey,
You should be able to run a 21x22. My boat is a lot heavier and I run 20x23. Max hull speed for me is around 31 knts with 1/4 tank of fuel.
You should fly with 300's in that light little Dreamsicle.

It was represented as being the 1965 Bertram Miami/Nassau race boat. Looked like a 31 hull, engines aren't original, pretty cool boat. Charlie thought it might be the one pictured in the Legend of Bertram book with only the tip of the bow still above water. Boat is supposed to do mid fifty's but wit...
