Thanks Neil painting outside in the fall has its own set of challenges but all in all I think it came out ok! I am by no means a painter but I got it done. I would love to come check out you in the deck fish boxes you made they looked great I am going to take that some time in the future.

So yesterday the exhaust mixers came from seaboard marine they are really nice! I was going to make them myself but decided to buy them. Not cheap but saved me some time. John there was a Bertram 31 done by mcdougalls marine the used coosa for the engine beds/stringers. My experience with coosa is it is strong when laminated and glassed with several layers. Image

This is my battery box made out of coosa fits 4 group 31 batteries.I glassed two fiberglass angles to the hull and the box is bolted to them. Shit happens Frank especially when working in the elements. It sands out pretty easy and like I said I might get a better job next time I have a base built up now. Thanks for the offer I will definitely keep it in mind. I am just hoping we get some good weather where I can spray one more time.

I am spraying awlcraft 2000 there is an additive for the cold I believe. I sanded it last night a little to see how bad it was and it wasn’t to bad. I might even get a better finish out of it now going to sand it out and see if I get lucky with another nice day. I would love to be in SC I might end ...

So sadly I got home from work to find out I lost the gamble it rained and I lost the paint job. There were rain drops all in it. I guess that was just practice for next time. Start sanding and prepping hope I get a good day to spray again before the cold sets in.

With the clock ticking on good weather days I decided to spray some paint today! Despite the leaves,bugs,dirt,bird poop I got some paint on not to bad for an in the elements paint job. Yes there is a thruhull with a cap it was there when I bought the boat. I think it was intended to be a drain for the deck hatches.

I also forgot it comes with the retainer clamp so it can’t slip. If you look forward towards the transmission in the front of the seal you can see it.

Cut the glass put some fillets in and layed up two layers of 1708. With just the two laminated pieces of 1/2” coosa glued in it stiffened it up some. I made a piece out of 1/2” lexan an will direct glaze it into my bow hatch. Very similar to the picture just bigger. I use sikaflex to glue it in. Same as all my windows. Then of coarse all new hardware!

Carl the airline right out of the head used to dump right into the tank putting really hot air right in. I bought that heavy duty transmission cooler and plumed through that before putting the air in the tank and the fan for the air compressor cools the cooler it works pretty well with the two separ...

I started off with a small 30gallon air compressor but I was getting a lot of moisture and it had a hard time keeping up. So I upgraded to an Ingersol Rand 60 gallon and built a custom aftercooler for the air and a couple filter driers. I am getting much better results now. http://i.imgur.com/0gNget...

Craig I bought the SMX digital displays and harness from Seaboard marine and this is how they came. This set up doesn’t bother me it will work just fine and having keys to take out keeps people from stealing your boat.
