So I have finished the break in routine on my new 5.7's and am finally running the boat normally. Some numbers from GPS. 2000 rpm 12 mph 3000 rpm 19 mph 3400 rpm which seems like a nice cruise 24 mph 4000 rpm 28 mph WOT is 5200 rpm and 36 mph. I have 16" X 17" 3 blade props. I am re powering my 26 convertable, it had Velvet drive transmissions one ran in reverse and I switched to Hurth 63 A 1.52 to 1 and have one running in reverse just like the Velvet drive set up. I found the 63A's were a lot cheaper than the Velvet drive 5000's and sound like they have a good reputat...

Both engines are in now, lined up bolted down. I am waiting for exhaust elbows from Centek, then will button the engines up. Next will be paint.

Started to get things lined up for the port side engine now. Had to take a little break. Found my new strut is a little different for lining up to the trans from a lateral standpoint. I got the dollies at a yard auction. They are Yard Arm brand. I got 5 of them and they are rated at 5000# each, they are handy.

When I blasted my hull I only went deep enough to get to the barrier coat, but since then I decided to remove the barrier coat by sanding with 80 grit, I didn't like the roughness of the barrier coat after blasting, I used walnut shells. One thing I notice on the steel caster wheels on these dollies is that they have a crown to them, they are not flat, so I think that helps them roll easier, so if you make something look for crowned profile wheels I think

I bought the dollies at an auction from a yard that went bankrupt. They are rated a 5000 pounds each, I got 5 of them and a set of yard arms at the sale, really lucky.
I can move the boat on concrete easily with 2 of them.

I found a way to save 1" in length on my repower, my velvet drives have drive savers on them, I won't reuse them, they are the orange colored ones made by Globe, $300.00 for the pair if someone wants them.

Yannis I need to strip and paint the window frame because it was brush painted by the P.O. I am a spray guy. One difference between the 25 and 26 is the fore deck shape, the 25 seems to be flatter. I did the blasting myself.
Using walnut shell media is very slow compared to say slag, but it doesn't cut into the barrier coat
I will add a few more coats of barrier coat before bottom paint though

Nice weather outside today so I sandblasted my bottom. It took about 4 hours. I have it down to the barrier coat now. I put it up on my flatbed and have it ready to blast the bottom. I am using walnut shell media here to, I just want to remove the bottom paint and not too much of the barrier coat.
