Re: 26 Bertram Converrtable
Mike The only thing I can say for sure about the value of these boats is it is a lot less than we put into them. Myself I do it because of the enjoyment I get from the project phase to completion and using the boat. I believe our inboard model boats came with the 165 hp engines. I have seen the 26 c...

That is what I used. It's really nice having these forums to research before doing a project.
Thanks

Re: 26 Bertram Converrtable
Mike My 26 had been repowered with V-6"s when I got it. I assume it was done to achieve better performance. I have a 20mph cruise at 3k RPM. Not too bad performance wise I think, but I am sure V-8's would do better and be loaded much lighter than the 6's. I think the 26 was fairly popular. It came i...

Re: 26 Bertram Converrtable
Bruce
My Hat is slower than most, I have it propped for a 10KT cruise at 1100 rpm and set my WOT at 1500 rpm with 14KT speed. But that is a whole other story, ha.
I have Naiads, they help the ride but following seas are bad.

Re: 26 Bertram Converrtable
Bruce Thanks for the input. I expect much improved performance from the 5.7's over the V-6's, the V-6 is kind of a dog I think compared to what's available now. My performance with the 6's is not terrible, 20mph at 3000 rpm and about 28 at 4000, hoping for closer to 30 mph at 3000rpm with the 8's. I...

26 Bertram Converrtable
I would like to apologize for the photo's I posted having very strange links attached to them, I think I will stay away from free photo host sites and stick to text post's for now. Like I said in my first post I am wanting to repower my 26 convertable, it has V-6 Vortecs now, I want to go with small...
