If it's original, mine had a starter solenoid behind the panel in the engine compartment. Be sure to use an ignition protected solenoid if you have to replace it.

Jbottoms, Welcome and good luck for the ...tons of work awaiting. This looks like a post '85 model, nice! One thing I can't shut-up saying each time I see it, is the tower height. Beware of such high towers on '28's...you might end-up injured or seriously humidified...this boat rolls a lot. The bug...
